Mt Pleasant Home Alterations
Christchurch, New Zealand
The objective of the design was to reinvigorate and modernise the existing character of the client's 1960's home on Mount Pleasant, Christchurch. Working within the existing building footprint, internal spaces were opened up and a natural material palette inspired by the existing house was selected to compliment retained existing features. Materials were carefully arranged to compliment and highlight key design features such as core living areas and the long linear roof line of the house.

“We were delighted to have Wulf and his team guide us through the design of our major home renovation. We bought our house in Mt Pleasant a few years after the Christchurch earthquakes. It had great bones, but was still unrepaired and quite dated, having been built in the 1960s. The design that Wulf and his team came up with was ideal – it made the most of what already worked, and cleverly transformed what didn't. Having Wulf's team oversee the build gave us enormous peace of mind. Their professionalism, attention to detail and clear communication took the stress out of the build process completely.
We are thrilled with the end result, and cannot recommend Borrmeister Architects highly enough.”
