Wings House

Christchurch, New Zealand

Two low-lying, horizontal timber bands form the public and private ‘wings’ of the house. The two wings meet to form a spacious sheltered, private, family outdoor area. The addition of the timber ‘colonnade’ shaped by the deck and louvered sun screens create an inviting transitional space. The band ‘facing outwards’ captures expansive views over the Canterbury Plains and Port Hills.
