Halswell House

A family friendly home gently ‘hovering’ over the ground was designed to be sympathetic to the surrounding landscape. Low-lying and naturally clad in Cedar weatherboards, the house would over time become progressively more a part of the horizontal stretch of land. Inside, a number of wings diverge with a sheltered garden courtyard at the centre. Generous ‘floating’ roof eaves provide protection from the elements and a secondary outdoor living area.
