Pavilion House

Christchurch, New Zealand

Responding to the long, narrow site in a neighbourhood of smaller older housing, the bulk of the house is fittingly ‘broken-up’ along the length of the site. From the street, the house is friendly and unassuming; peeking behind is the dramatic steeped form open to the tree canopies and views. The house then drops down once more forming an elegant, elongated light filled pavilion leading to the landscaped garden.

“I engaged Wulf Borrmeister to design and build a family house on a section in Redcliffs. He transformed my vision into a functional, beautiful space. Attention to detail was second to none. Wulf has also transformed our holiday home at Kaiteriteri.

It is my pleasure to recommend Wulf as an architect. I would choose to work with him again and again.”
